Sometimes it only takes a moment. A collision with a window. A passing car. An animal too young, too fragile, too exposed. And suddenly… life changes.

In Belgium, every day, hundreds of wild animals find themselves in distress. Injured, weakened, disoriented. Most of the time, they suffer in silence. But fortunately, some are watching.

🌿 The CREAVES of Namur: a refuge for wild animals

TheCREAVES of Namur(Center for the Rehabilitation of Wild Animal Species) is a unique place in Belgium. A place where we care for, where we protect… and above all, where we give a second chance. Here, we do not welcome domestic animals.

👉 These are wild animals. Birds, hedgehogs, raptors, small mammals… They all have one thing in common: they need help.

🩺 Care, rehabilitate… then release

Every animal welcomed at CREAVES follows a specific path:

  • 🩹 Care: diagnosis, treatment, stabilization

  • 🍽️ Rehabilitation: appropriate feeding, rest, getting back in shape

  • 🕊️ Return to nature: released into a suitable environment

Because the goal is always the same:

👉 to return the animal to its freedom. No unnecessary captivity. No exploitation. Just one mission: to repair… then let go.

🚨 Have you found an injured wild animal in Belgium?

It’s a situation more common than you think. And your reflex can make all the difference.

👉 Here’s what to do:

  • ❌ Do not handle the animal without caution

  • 📦 Place it in a box (in a quiet, dark place) if necessary

  • 🚫 Do not give it food or water

  • 📞 Quickly contact a center like CREAVES

Every action counts. And above all: acting quickly can save a life.

❤️ Why we are talking about CREAVES

AtThe Robin Lodge, we love observing birds, listening to nature, slowing down… But we also know that nature is fragile. And today, it needs us.
The work of CREAVES in Namur is essential:

  • to preserve biodiversity in Belgium

  • to give a chance to injured animals

  • to raise public awareness about wildlife

It’s a concrete commitment. Useful. Indispensable.

🤝 You can help too

You don’t need to be an animal caretaker to take action.
You can already:

  • 🌱 Share their work with those around you

  • ❤️ Support the center (donations, volunteering)

  • 🦉 Be attentive to the wildlife around you

  • 🌿 Adapt your actions (gardening, feeding, observing…)

Protecting nature often starts with a more attentive look.

🌍 Protecting wildlife, here and now

Behind every animal rescued at CREAVES… there is a story. A fall, a shock, sometimes a human error. But also a second chance. And that changes everything.
At The Robin Lodge, we are convinced of one thing:

👉 a protected nature is a nature that continues to amaze us.

💚 Thank you for being one of those who watch, respect… and act.
